Poy's Story
From a simple craving to a bold idea. Back in September 2019, the idea of opening a pungko-pungko stall came out when the founder of PTP, was in her hometown for a short vacation. Her craving for pungko-pungko was challenged, with the limited options available in town. That moment was an eye-opener to her and her family.
September 2020, amidst the global pandemic she took the risk of opening the business with the help of her sister and her partner, who is in the culinary workforce.
8 October 2020, Pungko Ta Poy! opened its door to the public, offering the first available chili garlic ginabot and an array of pungko-pungko dishes like ngohiong, siomai, lumpiang tauge, fried chicken, and linarang. The team created original recipes to provide the customers with satisfying food that is distinct from PTP.
Pungko Ta Poy! unconventionally serves pungko-pungko to ensure a safe and healthy dining environment for its customers. That was the the birth of its tagline, “Streetfood Off Street”.
